Scholarship Description
A 12-month PhD scholarship is available in the tumour biology laboratory at the Kolling Institute of Medical Research The institute is located at Royal North Shore Hospital, St Leonards and is affiliated with the University of Sydney. The project will investigate the mechanisms of action of a tumour protein in breast cancer cells. Candidates must have completed a recent degree in a biological science discipline with at least Honours 2-1 and should ideally have some experience in cell biology or molecular biology and have a desire to establish a career in medical research.
The scholarship will be awarded at the equivalent rate as the NH&MRC Medical Postgraduate Award ($30,060 in 2007) and is available for 12 months in the first instance with extension for up to a further 2 years. Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD30060 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid annually.
