PhD position in the thermoelectric performance of clathrate-based systems – Vienna University of Technology
In the scope of an Austrian FFG project, the thermoelectric performance of clathrate-based systems will be studied and the Seebeck effect, the thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity will be optimised such that the figure of merit reaches reasonably large values.
We are seeking either a Postdoc candidate (2 years) or a Ph.D. student (3.25 years) familiar in preparation and x-ray investigation of clathrates (or similar systems) as well as in the study of transport phenomena (resitivity, thermal conductivity, thermopower) and other bulk properties.
We can offer co-operation in well equipped laboratories (Vienna University of Technology, University of Vienna) and a monthly salary of about Euro 1.760.â€“ (14 times a year, pre-tax, Ph.D) or Euro 3.026.- (14 times a year, pre-tax, Postdoc).
