[Austria] Postdoctoral Position in Numerical and Applied Harmonic Analysis, The University of Vienna
A postdoctoral position is available in the Faculty of Mathematics within, the Numerical and Applied Harmonic Analysis project. The project is carried out within the Numerical Harmonic Analysis Group (NuHAG) at the University of Vienna, Austria, under the direction of Professor Hans G. Feichtinger.
The successful candidate will do research in the area of fast numerical algorithms for signal processing, including analysis of smooth signals of variable bandwidth, channel equalization and channel estimation in wireless communication. The candidate will primarily be responsible for the development of efficient and reliable numerical algorithms, including their implementation, thorough testing and code validation.
The position requires a solid background in numerical analysis, and some experience in signal processing. Excellent programming skills are absolutely mandatory.
The initial contract is for two years with a possibility of renewal, starting on July 1, 2007 or later. The position carries no teaching load. A Ph.D. in mathematics or electrical engineering is required. Working languages are either English or German. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits.
