[China] Scholarship for International Students – National Taiwan University
High-school graduates who are neither overseas Chinese nor citizens of the Republic of China may apply for admission to the undergraduate program. Foreign-trained physical therapists who do not have the citizenship of the Republic of China and have the bachelor degree in physical therapy may apply for admission to the graduate program.

Below are the scholarships available for international students:
- Taiwan Scholarship: From February 1st till the end of March every year, applicants can apply at the Taiwan Overseas Mission (TOM) in their home countries. The amount of the scholarship is NT$25,000 per month for undergraduate students, and NT$30,000 per month for graduate students.
- Democratic Pacific Union (DPU) Graduate Scholarship: Limited to the graduate students from the DPU member countries. Applicants should apply directly to the DPU. The amount of the scholarship is NT$30,000 per month. DPU Website: http://www.dpu.org.tw
- NTU International Graduate Student Scholarship: Limited to graduate students. The amount of the scholarship is NT$20,000 per month for Master students, and NT$25,000 for PhD students. New students can apply for it together with the degree application. No other application documents are needed. Currently registered students can apply for it via CIAE in April every year. The list of the scholarship winners will be decided by the scholarship committee. - NTU International Graduate Students Support Funds (Tuition/ Sundry Expenses Waiver): The number of the winners for each college will be allocated by the total number of applicants for new students, and by the ratio of the number of the currently registered students in each college for currently registered students.
As for the application qualification, please note that applicants with the ROC nationality will not be qualified. Please refer to the Article 2 of Law of Nationality below for more explanation:
According to the Article 2 of Law of Nationality, a person shall have the nationality of the Republic of China under any of the conditions provided by the following subparagraphs:
- His/Her father or mother was a national of the Republic of China when he/she was born.
- The situation of mother does not apply to those who were born before February 9 (include the 9th), 1980
- He/She was born after the death of his/her father or mother, and his/her father or mother was a national of the Republic of China at the time of death.
- He/She was born in the territory of the Republic of China, and his/her parents can’t be ascertained or both were stateless persons.
- He/She has undergone the nationalization process.
Applicants should fulfill the requirements of the Regulations Governing Foreign Student Admission of National Taiwan University. Individual interview is required but the written examination is optional. For further admission information please refer to

Preceding subparagraph 1 and subparagraph 2 shall also apply to the persons who were minors at the time of the revision and promulgation of this Act.
