[Denmark] PhD Scholarship in Water Resources
Applications are invited for a PhD scholarship within the subject area: “Integrating remote sensing and hydrological modeling for groundwater resources assessment and sustainable use in the North China Plainsâ€
Applicants are requested to submit an application that includes (1) a short description of their qualifications for this specific research project; (2) a curriculum vita that provides relevant academic, employment and personal details; (3) authorized documentations of university degrees; (4) a list of reference persons; and (5) evidence of English language competence.
Please note that filling of an application form is not requested.
Applicants should hold a MA degree in a discipline of relevance for the research project. The scholarship is open to both Danish and international applicants. As the research involves communication with Chinese population and authorities the successful candidate should possess appropriate language skills.
A committee appointed by the board of the Research School, with representation from IWMI, will evaluate the applications and selected applicants will be invited for an interview. The final selection of the successful candidates will be made by the board upon recommendation by the committee. The successful candidate is requested to apply for enrollment as a PhD student at the University of Copenhagen.
Funding for the PhD study comes from the International Research School of Water Resources (Fiva); Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen; and the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Sri Lanka. The candidate will be employed 2/3 of the time at the University of Copenhagen and 1/3 of the time at IWMI and/or a Chinese institution. Remuneration will follow standard rules applicable at these institutions.
