[Finland] Summer School in Northern Nature and Environment Studies - University of Oulu
The University of Oulu in Finland offers a summer program in Northern Nature and Environment Studies. The coursework focuses on Animal and Plant Ecology.
You will take field courses in aquatic animals, ecological botany, and terrestrial animals at the university’s research stations in northern Finland. Learn about the ecology and classification of plants and animals in the Nordic countryside and wilderness. Courses are arranged at field stations in Oulussa and Oulanga.
Tentative* program dates:
May 21 - August 16, 2007. Dates may vary depending on which courses you take.
Course offerings:
- Identification and Ecology of Terrestrial Animals, Part 1—May 21-25, 2007.
- Field Course in Aquatic Animals—June 3 -17, 2007.
- Identification of Plant Species—June 12-26, 2007. This is a pre-requisite for students who plan to take the Field Course in Ecological Botany.
- Field course in Ecological Botany—June 27 - July 19, 2007. Students must have completed course in Identification of Plant Species.
- Identification and Ecology of Terrestrial Animals, Part 2—August 7-16, 2007.
