[Germany] British Chamber of Commerce in Germany Foundation Scholarship
The BCCG Foundation is a charity registered in Germany. Since the formation in Germany in 1983 the Foundation has been providing financial support and partial scholarships to young British and German nationals for study or research in the Federal Republic of Germany or the United Kingdom respectively. In this way it seeks to promote understanding between the peoples and the furtherance of cultural relations between the two countries.
The Foundation is governed by a Kuratorium ( Board of Trustees ), largely nominated by the Council of the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany ( BCCG ) with one representative of the British Embassy, Berlin, and an Executive Board nominated by the Kuratorium and charged with the day-to-day administration of the scholarships scheme.
The activities of the Foundation are subject to inspection and audit by the Ministry of the Interior, North-Rhine Westphalia.
The Foundation is financed through donations by individuals, firms and institutions in Britain and Germany. The Foundation has been granted tax-exempt status and is entitled to issue receipts with certificates which make payments to the Foundation fully tax-deductible in Germany.
Donors of 12,500 Euro or more may have their payments used to establish nominated awards, either in their own name or to commemorate an individual.
Eligibility
Citizens of the UK are eligible to apply for awards for study or research in Germany, and German citizens for awards for study or research in the UK. Applicants should be undertaking full time courses of study at universities leading to degrees, diplomas or equivalent qualifications. Also research students are eligible.
