The Institute of Molecular Cardiovascular Research (IMCAR) & the IZKF “BIOMAT†at the RWTH Aachen University invite applications for
- 1 PhD Studentship
Positions are funded by IZKF “Biomat.†and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (FOR809, “Chemokines and Adhesion Molecules in Cardiovascular Pathogenesisâ€) and will start in Mai 2007. The project will be focussed on the mechanisms of leukocyte adhesion and migration in inflamed vascular tissue. The techniques to be employed include molecular design and characterization of protein mutants, flow adhesion experiments with cultured cells and animal models of atherosclerosis. We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with PhD degree, a PhD student with master/diploma degree in biology, biochemistry or related life sciences and one technical assistant (MTA or BTA).
A strong background in cellular and molecular biology or detailed experience in animal studies would be advantageous, The project will be part of an interdisciplinary research group of
