[Netherlands] Post doc for the Development of Techniques for Parameterised Lyout - Delft University of Technology
Next-generation nano-scale radio-frequency integrated circuit designs will face an increasing number of challenges as compared to current designs. These challenges are related to the high frequency content of the signals, the small dimensions and the non-ideal characteristics of the devices, and the relative manufacturing tolerances that increase with each new generation of technology. Successful realisation of such designs requires a detailed analysis of all possible undesirable coupling mechanisms. Devices can no longer be treated in isolation; instead, complete RF blocks must be considered as one entity. The Post doc will become part of a project team that aims at delivering improved methodologies and prototype tools for analysis and verification of RF building blocks, taking manufacturing variability into account.
In this context, the Post doc will research and develop techniques for parameterised modelling and layout to circuit extraction of RF functional blocks. Manufacturing variability will be resolved through parameterisation, with the resulting parameterised models being suitable for parameterised model order reduction. The Post doc will work in close cooperation with the other members of the project team, and will participate in local project meetings and discussions as well as in meetings with other (European) research groups. The particular division of tasks between all team members will be dynamic and subject to their experience and interest.
