[Sweden] Scholarships available for journalism and democracy seminar
Latin American journalists interested in traveling to Sweden for a seminar on journalism and democracy have until August 4 to apply for scholarships.
The seminar is scheduled for October 16 to November 3 in Kalmar and Stockholm. Among the objectives: to network with colleagues from different political systems, and to analyze the role that the media plays in the democratic process.
The Institute for Further Education of Journalists (FOJO) is organizing the event, sponsored by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
Journalists from Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru and Venezuela are eligible to apply. Participants will spend most of the program at workshops, seminars and practical exercises in the FOJO offices in Kalmar, and the final week in Stockholm.
