[Taiwan] International Students Admissions Prospectus - Chang Jung Christian University

The rules and guidelines are established according to Chang Jung Christian University (hereafter CJCU) International Student Admissions Guidelines.

Qualification
A foreign student whose nationality is not that of the Republic of China and does not have the legal status of overseas Chinese according to Act 2 of the
Nationality Act and who possesses educational eligibility may apply for admission according to this information packet. Students with the Republic of China nationality having ceased to hold the nationality, are not qualified to apply for admission according to this information packet, if the period of the renunciation of the nationality on the first day of the first semester is less than 8 years since the date, on which a revocation was issued from the Ministry of the Interior. According to the Cultural Exchange Agreement, a foreign national who was selected by a foreign government, organization, school, or educational/cultural group to study in Taiwan, is not subject to the limitation as prescribed above. The aforementioned eight years mentioned above is calculated according to each school’s start of the semester.

General Admissions Requirement

  • Undergraduate program: Foreign students with high school diploma or equivalent may apply for the undergraduate program.
  • Graduate program: Foreign students with a bachelor degree or equivalent may apply for the master program

Documents and Application Deadline

  • Applications are accepted between February 1, 2007 and June 30, 2007. Applicants must submit the following documents for evaluation to Division of International Affairs under the Office of the Secretariat
    • 2 copies of application form attached with 2 inch photos
    • 1

    • copy of diploma from high school or university and transcript (a translated copy of the diploma and transcript in Chinese or English is required if the original is not Chinese or English; original documents are required upon registration.)
    • A health exam certificate including HIV test
    • Documented evidence of financial support (Proof of sufficient funds for studying in Taiwan).
    • A study plan written in either Chinese or English.
    • Application fee of US$45 (or NT$1,500).
    • Other documents specified by the department or institute
  • With the exception of overseas Taipei schools and overseas Chinese schools, all diploma described in the preceding section must be certified by the Taiwan Overseas Mission.
  • Foreign students having obtained bachelor degree or higher in Taiwan wishing to apply to master programs or higher may apply with diplomas and transcripts from Taiwan and are not subject to the restrictions listed in item (ii) above.
  • Upon registration, foreign students must show proof of having medical and accident insurance or National Health Insurance. The coverage must extend over the time students studying in school. Students wanting to obtain insurance can contact the University.
  • Accepted foreign students lacking Chinese proficiency must take required language courses at language centers approved by the University

Application may be done through mail or authorizing a person to file in person.

    • Attach two photos identical to that of the passport on the application form;
    • Please provide mailing address and contact phone number (including native language and country) valid before September 30, 2007
  • Application fee
    • Fee: US$45 or NT$1,500.
    • Fee remittance: Fees are remitted by wire transfer outside Taiwan
