[UK] Manchester-China Scholarship Council Joint Postgraduate Scholarship Programme - University of Manchester
The University of Manchester and the China Scholarship Council award up to ten postgraduate scholarships annually to nationals of PR China who intend to study a PhD or undertake post-doctoral work at the University of Manchester.
The Scholarship covers tuition fees and an annual maintenance grant for a period of up to three years subject to satisfactory progress (one year in the case of post-doctoral work).
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
Hold an offer to study a MPhil/PhD degree at the University of Manchester commencing in the 2007/08 academic year
Hold a Master’s degree from one of the 39 Chinese universities under 985 Programme and a first degree with an average grade of 80% Be citizens and permanent residents of PR China at the time of application. Not be currently working or studying in the UK
Return to China at the end of the period of study Satisfy the selection criteria set out by China Scholarship Council by completing the CSC application form and the employer reference form A CSC-Manchester award cannot be held in conjunction with an Overseas Research Student Award Scheme (ORS).

How to apply
The application process for the CSC-Manchester award is as follows:
All applicants should normally have received and accepted an offer of a PhD place at the University before submitting an application for a CSC-Manchester award.
Students who wish to apply for a CSC-Manchester award should complete an Overseas Postgraduate Research Studentship application form 2007/08.

Eligible students who have applied to the University of Manchester for an ORS award will be automatically considered for a CSC-Manchester award.
