[UK] Mres in Viral Pathogenesis – University of Liverpool

Applications are invited for a prestigious one year full time MRes commencing in October 2007. This studentship is funded by the BBSRC and comes with £12,800 pa stipend, along with University fees. The aim of this studentship is to study herpesvirus pathogenesis in the RAE 5 rated School of Infection and Host defence at the University of Liverpool, using a murine model system and molecular techniques such as DNA microarrays and BAC generated virus mutants. The successful student will register on the MRes course (see handbook at http://www.liv.ac.uk/biomedsci/prospective_students/mres/handbook.doc). It is also envisaged that the masters degree will lead to a PhD studentship on successful completion. Candidates should have a 1st or upper 2nd class degree in biological sciences.
