[UK] Phd Scholarship – UCL
The new Centre for Auditory Research at the UCL Ear Institute provides state-of-the-art research facilities across a wide range of disciplines including the study of the auditory system function and associated technologies, the molecular and cellular basis of hearing and the genetics of hearing and deafness.
The following Studentship is available:
PhD Studentship (4 year) funded by Deafness Research UK
Possible research projects with Centre supervisors include:
- Assessing cochlear function using otoacoustic emissions
- Indentifying susceptibility genes for age-related hearing loss
- Investigating mechanisms responsible for tinnitus
- Brain mechanisms for sound localisation
- Coding of complex sounds in auditory cortex
- Investigating the mechanisms of sensory hair cell regeneration and/or repair
- Cellular mechanisms of transduction in cochlear hair cells.
Eligibility for the studentship is restricted to those holding EU citizenship.
