POSTGRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANTSHIPS and RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS

Birmingham Law School is offering Teaching Assistantships and Research Scholarships for students wishing to enrol for a research programme in 2008-2009.
Successful applicants will join a thriving community of 55 research students working towards LLM by Research, MJur and PhD degrees, 14 of whom currently hold Teaching Assistantships.
Postgraduate Teaching Assistants teach up to 75 hours on our LLB programme. Successful applicants will receive £12,300 pa, in addition to which the Law School will pay tuition fees (up to a maximum of the current home/EU student rate). These positions are not tied to any field of law although we would particularly welcome applications from graduates willing to teach in the following areas: Public Law; Property Law; the Law of Tort; Equity and the Law of Trusts.
The Law School also offers a number of Research Scholarships, worth up to £5,000 pa, to contribute towards tuition fees and maintenance. Applications are invited from well-qualified graduates working in any field of law.

Value:
PTAship: £12,300 pa + Home/EU fees (international students will receive an amount equivalent to the home fee towards their international fee); Research Scholarships: up to £5,000 pa

- Funding duration: 3 years (PTAship) assuming satisfactory progress
