[UK] Scholarship for Indian Students - British Council

The Charles Wallace India Trust offers Indian nationals who are normally resident in India opportunities to visit Britain for postgraduate study. The Trust concentrates mainly on the Arts and Humanities.

Each year awards are made in six areas:

  • visual and performing arts
  • architectural and materials conservation
  • museum studies and curatorship
  • English studies
  • humanities
  • journalism

All applicants should:

  • be an Indian citizen, domiciled and resident in India
  • be aged between 25 and 38
  • have a good working knowledge of English
  • have completed their first degree/diploma in the area of their specialisation and for partial grants be in their 2nd or 3rd year of study.
  • clearly state what they want to do in the UK
  • state how they propose to put their training/study to use on their return to India
  • not have received CWIT grant within the last 5 years

have already sought or agreed on placement/admission in an appropriate UK institution
Please note: those with little or no overseas exposure will be given preference.
