Faculty Undergraduate Scholarships
We are pleased to offer scholarships to all international students commencing their studies in the Faculties of Engineering, Pure Science and Law in September 2007:

Postgraduate Scholarships eg MA, MSc
The University offers a range of scholarships for Brazilian students of high academic standing commencing a postgraduate Taught Masters programme at the University of Sheffield in September 2007.
Brazil Sheffield Scholarships 2007
We are pleased to offer the Brazil Sheffield Scholarship 2007 to all Brazilian students commencing a Taught Masters programme in September 2007.
The scholarships are:
- £1,500 each for students paying fees between £9,450 – £10,450
- £2,000 each for students paying fees between £10,451 upward
Eligibility and award criteria:
- You must hold an offer of a study place and begin your postgrauate Taught Masters programme in September 2007.
- You must be an Brazilian national or permanently domiciled in Brazil.
- You must be classified as overseas for fee purposes.
- The scholarships will be awarded automatically - no application is required.
- The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.
South America 50% Postgraduate Scholarship 2007
There is one South America 50% Postgraduate Scholarship, available for students from South America starting their postgraduate taught masters degree studies in September 2007.
The scholarship is worth 50% of your postgraduate taught masters degree tuition fee for one year of study.
To be eligible for the South America 50% Postgraduate Scholarship 2007, applicants must be a national or permanently domiciled in one of the following countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay or Venezuela. Applicants must also apply for a study place by 8 June 2007 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2007.
The South America 50% Postgraduate Scholarships 2007 is awarded on the basis of academic merit.
If you wish to be considered for this scholarship you need to apply. Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January 2007 onwards.
Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.
The University of Sheffield Chevening scholarship
The University offers a joint-funded Chevening scholarship for students from Brazil. The scholarship includes full tuition fees and living costs. Applications should be made through the British Council in Brazil.
Postgraduate research degrees eg PhD, MPhil
The University of Sheffield does not offer research studentships or funding specifically for Brazilian students. There are, however, studentships and funding for which students from Brazil can apply:
New Route PhD
Tuition fee scholarships are available to students starting a New Route PhD programme in September 2007.
The scholarship is a 25% tuition fee reduction per year for 4 years of the degree programme.
Applicants will be informed automatically if they have been awarded a scholarship. Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.
