[United State] NAHN Scholarships - National Association Of Hispanic Nurses
KAISER PERMANENTE & NAHN $1,000 SCHOLARSHIPS
These awards are presented to NAHN members enrolled in associate, diploma, baccalaureate, graduate or practical/vocational
nursing programs. Selection of recipients is based on current academic standing. Scholarship award recipients are a select group of Hispanic students who demonstrate promise of future professional contributions to the nursing profession and who have the potential to act as role models for other aspiring nursing students. To qualify for the scholarship award, the applicant must be currently enrolled in a school of nursing and be a United States citizen or legal resident of the United States. The number of scholarships offered depends on funding availability. Criteria for the Scholarship Awards include:
- A typed one-page essay by the student that reflects the qualifications and potential for leadership in nursing in the Hispanic community.
- Two letters of support from faculty members outlining the applicant’s future professional contribution to the nursing profession and potential to act as a role model for other aspiring nursing students.
- Academic excellence (minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred).
- A current nursing program transcript.
- National Scholarship application form completed and submitted by deadline date.
- Verification of membership status in NAHN.
JUANITA ROBLES-LOPEZ/PAMPERS PARENTING INSTITUTE AND PROCTOR & GAMBLE SCHOLARSHIP
This award is presented by the National Association of Hispanic Nurses to a NAHN member pursuing a master’s degree in a maternal-child nursing program.
Criteria for the $2,000 award include the following:
- Three to four page statement outlining the maternal child needs affecting Hispanic communities and the applicant’s potential leadership in this area.
- Two letters of support outlining the applicant’s superior potential, clinical teaching and knowledge of maternal child needs.
- Verification of status (accepted/enrolled) in a graduate maternal child nursing program, including current transcript
- Academic excellence (minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred).
- National Scholarship application form completed
- Verification of membership status in NAHN (copy of current membership ID card) May submit membership application with packet.
