[United States] Feldman Graduate Fellowship in Sustainable Development - Brandeis University
Abstract
The Master of Arts in Sustainable International Development (SID) degree program announces the Feldman Fellowship. The Feldman Fellow will join SID graduate students from over 40 countries at Brandeis University in an interdisciplinary study of development and project management emphasizing poverty reduction, gender, human rights, and biodiversity conservation.
The Fellow will complete a Year-in-Residence at SID, and then work at a field conservation site during the second year of the Master’s degree program. The Fellowship begins in late August 2007.
Eligibility
- The candidate has to be an early to mid-level career development professional interested in integrated conservation and development.
- Nominations are encouraged from international and governmental development institutions and NGOs.
- Self-nominations are accepted
- Women are especially encouraged to apply.
Amount Note
The award includes full tuition, fees, airfare and living expenses for the Year-in-Residence at Brandeis, and airfare and subsistence allowance for the second year fieldwork.
Requirements
Applications (to be submitted by the applicant) should include:
- A Letter of Interest in the Feldman Fellowship
- A completed Application Form (which can be downloaded from our website or submitted on-line)
- A Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume
- A detailed Statement of Purpose describing your career objectives and work experience
- Three original letters of recommendation (at least one professional and one academic) on official letterhead and accompanied by Brandeis University Recommendation Forms, sent directly to the Admissions Office from the recommender (Faxed letters are acceptable to begin the review process but originals are required before any offer of admission or award can be made.)
- Original or certified true copies of transcripts from all university-level studies, sent directly to the Admissions Office from each university (An unofficial transcript of university record is acceptable to begin consideration but the original is required to complete the application. Transcripts in languages other than English must be accompanied by an official English translation.)
- A TOEFL or IELTS score report (required for all international applicants)
