[United States] Graduate School Scholarship - Oregon State University
Study may be pursued in any college or university that the student may select with the advice and approval of the authorities of Oregon State University. Preference will be given to students who intend to pursue graduate study at Oregon State University. Given equal capacity for study, preference will be given to those applicants who may not otherwise have the opportunity for such study. Graduates of any bachelor’s or master’s degree program at Oregon State University are eligible to apply. In addition, those expecting to receive either a bachelor’s or master’s degree from OSU by June 2007 may also apply. This scholarship may be given in addition to a departmental graduate teaching or research assistantship. Previous recipients are not eligible to apply. Domestic and international students are eligible to apply.
One or more scholarships will be awarded for the 2007-08 school year, depending on the qualifications and financial needs of the applicants. Those interested may download application and budget forms located at the bottom of this announcement.
PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT TO BE RELEASED: JANUARY 12, 2007
Applications will be sought for the 2007-08 Eric Englund Memorial Post-graduate Scholarship, which is to be awarded to a graduate of Oregon State University. This scholarship is to be given for graduate study in:
- agricultural economics (preferably, but not necessarily exclusively, in its international aspects), or
- home economics
Students should submit their completed application forms and accompanying documents by February 2, 2007 to either the Office of the Dean of Health and Human Sciences for home economics students or to the Agricultural and Resource Economics Department for agricultural economics students. Following the appropriate departmental or college-level review, those offices may submit no more than three (3) nominees in rank order to the Graduate School by February 23, 2007.
The following items must accompany the completed application:
1. Application form (available below)
2. A budget (available below)
3. Two letters of recommendation
4. A statement of the student’s academic goals
5. A transcript of all post-high school academic work
Deadlines:
Students must submit applications to their appropriate academic unit by February 2, 2007.
Participating academic units must submit their nominees to the Graduate School by February 23, 2007.
