[US] Apogee Search Scholarship Program
Unlike the bungling patriarch of a family road trip comedy, Apogee Search likes to stop and ask for directions. We want to know where we are going, how we will get there, and what is the best route. We also want this route to avoid distant backcountry relatives at all costs.
In the First Annual Apogee Search Scholarship Program, we want you to flex your writing muscles and forecast where Google will take us in years to come. The world’s largest search engine, and one of Apogee’s best portals for both paid search and natural search, is destined to evolve over time.
So where does this leave us, and more importantly, where does this leave Google? We have our research and projections, but we would like to see what you think—and we want to pay you for it.
One undergraduate or graduate student will be awarded this scholarship in recognition of his or her best explanation as to how Google’s evolution will affect the internet and those in the Search Engine Marketing industry. This opportunity is open to all graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in either a two or four year college or university in the United States during the 2007-2008 school year.
The winner will be selected based on their answer to the following essay question:
Over the last few years, Google has rapidly grown from a simple search engine into an all-encompassing service offering an array of technology including maps, email, language tools, a video site, desktop search functionality, etc. Where do you see Google expanding in the years to come? Will they maintain their status as the industry leader? How will Google’s continual development of new technology shape the future of search engine marketing? Describe your projections for Google and what effect they will have on the search engine marketing industry.
(NO LESS THAN 1,000 WORDS, NO MORE THAN 1,200)
