[USA] Doctoral International Scholarship
In 2009-2010, the Kathryn Fuller Science for Nature Fund will award doctoral fellowships to scientists addressing research questions that will significantly improve the practice of tiger conservation.
Applicants for Fuller Fellowships may pursue doctoral degree research in fields that will have a direct impact on tiger conservation, including tiger ecology, tiger prey, large mammals, and/or tiger landscape ecology. We are looking for talented individuals, from tiger landscape countries, who see obtaining a PhD as their route to becoming more effective tiger conservationists in global priority tiger landscapes.
Fellowships will be awarded in a merit-based competition looking at each applicant’s 1) demonstrated ability, accomplishments, and potential to become a leader in his/her field, 2) scientific merit, feasibility, and significance of the research proposal, and 3) relevance of the research to WWF’s mission in general and to tiger conservation in particular.
Fuller Fellows will become part of the WWF global network of results-driven scientists and conservationists. They will have access to minds and resources that are dedicated to bringing the best ideas to bear on the critical task of conserving the diversity and abundance of life on Earth. They will also have the opportunity to link their research to this ongoing effort and to see their ideas put into practice.
If you would like to apply for the Fuller doctoral fellowship, please read the application procedure and fellowship terms, and then apply online. If you have questions about the fellowship process, please read the FAQs.
