[USA] Fellowships and Grants for Middle Eastern Graduate Studies
Middle East Institute Regional Travel Research Fellowship, Summer 2008
Provides up to $2,500 to graduate and professional school students to support summer travel to the Middle East for the purposes of work on a sustained research project.
Separate grants will be awarded for travel and research to each of the following four regions of the Middle East:
- Arab countries
- Turkey
- Israel
- Iran
Fellowship requirements: Students must be Columbia University graduate students in good standing. The project for which they seek funding must be ongoing and sustained. Language study programs will not be funded. Fellowship recipients cannot use this fellowship as a supplement to other summer fellowships they have received. Fellowship recipients will be required to submit a brief trip report within six weeks of their return.
Application requirements: Proposal - (2 page max.) (Include any arrangements you have made with host institution)
- Budget - include cost of airfare
- Curriculum vitae - students should include information on academic standing- also include Social Security Number on CV
- 1 letter of recommendation
