[USA] Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholarship

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation awards approx. 75 graduate scholarships annually to help U.S. and international students with exceptional promise and demonstrated financial need achieve their full potential through education at U.S. universities. Scholars may use the award to attend any accredited graduate school in the U.S. or abroad to pursue any graduate or professional degree. The scholarships cover tuition, room, board, fees and books - up to $50,000 annually - for up to six years. The recipients pursue graduate study in wide ranging fields, including medicine, law, theology, education, journalism, business, architecture, as well as fine and performing arts, the latter fields reflecting Mr. Cooke’s passion for the arts. Each university can nominate two students to compete nationally.

Eligibility:
Applicants must be either seniors or recent graduates with unmet financial need and with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5. Records of leadership and service, as well as evidence of appreciation for the arts and humanities (regardless of major) are essential.

Campus deadline:
January 15, 2008
(application due in the University Honors Program office for a preliminary screening).
Cooke deadline: March 14, 2008.
