[USA] William and Dorothy Ferrell Scholarship 2008
Scholarship applications are now being accepted for the 2008 William and Dorothy Ferrell Scholarship. The deadline for filing the application is February 15, 2008. Applications must be submitted electronically as an email attachment to: scholarships@aerbvi.org. Scholarships are awarded prior to the AER’s Biennial International Conference, scheduled for July 22-27, 2008 in Chicago, IL. Recipients will be notified no later than June 30, 2008.The Ferrell Scholarship is awarded to two selected applicants who are legally blind and are studying for a career in the field of services to persons who are blind or visually impaired.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Applicants for the Ferrell Scholarship must be legally blind. The definition of legal blindness is a visual acuity of 20/200 or less in the best-corrected eye and/or a visual field of 20 degrees or less.
- Applicants for the scholarships must be studying at the post-secondary level for a career in the field of services to persons who are blind or visually impaired.
- Applications must be received in the AER central office by February 15, 2008. Scholarships are awarded prior to the AER’s Biennial International Conference, which will be held in Chicago, Illinois, during the week of July 22-27, 2008.
